Autumn capsule: curating

2017-09-24b Autumn capsule complete

I’ve transitioned from my summer to my autumn capsule. It feels great – like I have a whole, new wardrobe!

It’s one of the things I love about Project 333. While the number is limited, it’s not restrictive and each capsule lasts for only three months – not long enough to get tired of the clothes. And it’s exciting to revisit clothes I haven’t seen for a while – it’s as good as shopping, but without the crowds and the bills!

My autumn capsule comprises a total of 34 pieces – Project 333 with a cheeky extra!

  • 6 bottoms – 2 trousers, 2 jeans and 2 skirts
  • 7 toppers – 3 jackets, 2 cardigans and 2 jumpers
  • 9 tops – mix of long and ¾ sleeve
  • 2 dresses
  • 5 shoes – well, 4 pairs of shoes and 1 pair of boots
  • 3 pieces of outerwear – 2 jackets and 1 raincoat
  • 2 accessories – 1 bag and 1 scarf

My key neutral colour for this autumn is navy. In previous capsules, I’ve tended to have two key neutrals but I don’t feel the need for this capsule.

Navy is a brilliant colour – not as sombre as black, but dark enough to show accent colours to their best advantage. My accent colours this time around will be pink, blue and burgundy.

It’s all about the mixing and matching, to get optimum variety from the pieces. My toppers and bottoms tend to be solid colours – I can then use printed/multi-coloured tops (and my beloved stripes!) to add interest and variety.

It didn’t take long at all to sort this capsule out. I struggled a bit with the summer one but my autumn one felt easy. That’s it now – I don’t have to think about clothes or what to wear or shopping for the next few months.

It’s sorted, giving me time to enjoy the company of Mr. Minimal-Lol, my lovely friends and taking some fabulous autumnal walks in beautiful Hartley Wintney. Have a great week 😊

Hi Laurel, thanks so much for reading and commenting 😀 I’ve tried a lot of different ways of storing jewellery and I find this one great. Also, there’s a limit to how much I can fit on it so it helps me keep a minimalist collection!! Hope your trip goes well, have a safe journey xxx
